EC2 Nitro Compute Platform Engineer

Amazon is a global leader in cloud computing, and our EC2 Nitro team is driving innovation in virtualization at scale. We're seeking an experienced software engineer to join our team and help drive development for new EC2 compute platforms.
About EC2 NitroNitro is AWS' ground-up design for virtualization built on a fully custom stack of hardware, firmware, and applications. It enables EC2 to support Intel, AMD, and Amazon's custom silicon, the Graviton processor family, while raising the industry bar for security and performance.
About This RoleWe integrate hardware, firmware, application software, and services to deliver new virtualized and bare-metal compute platforms for companies from startups to the Fortune 500. As an engineer on this team, you'll work with technical teams that develop hardware, firmware, systems, and application software.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop software components for new EC2 compute platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software.
- Develop and maintain high-quality code using C, C++, Java, or Rust in a Linux environment.
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience (coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations).
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Background in Systems Development or Applications Development.

CompensationThe base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon offers a total compensation package, including equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
