Position Summary and Responsibilities

As an Emergency Medical Services Coordinator, you will:
  • Oversee all transfer center operations, ensuring timely and professional patient placement using a comprehensive database of facility services and clinical protocols.
  • Coordinate the transfer of patients, ensuring adherence to established protocols and policies.
  • Collaborate with team members to facilitate appropriate patient admissions.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of hospital services and medical staff.
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service skills in all interactions, including managing challenging communications.
  • Ensure accurate data collection and maintenance in patient records and workflow systems.
Required Skills:
  • Proficiency in EMTALA and knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding ambulance services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with medical professionals.
  • Problem-solving abilities to determine optimal solutions for patient care.
  • Familiarity with hospital operations and patient care practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant databases.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and maintain clear communication.
  • Experience in clinical or hospital settings, with dispatch or call center experience preferred.
  • EMT certification is required.
