Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sanitation Operator to join our team at Publix Super Markets, Inc. As a Sanitation Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment in our deli kitchen. This includes assembling and disassembling equipment, dispensing and using chemicals safely, and cleaning all production equipment to meet USDA standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assemble and disassemble equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  • Chemical Safety: Dispense and use chemicals safely, following all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean all production equipment, including injector systems, flume systems, and other equipment, to meet USDA standards.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Maintain standard operating procedures at an exceptional level, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Prevention of Damage: Ensure the prevention of damage when cleaning equipment, including electrical wiring and control panels.
  • Chemical Application: Apply various chemicals on different equipment and environmental locations, following all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain floor scrubbers and other equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Requirements
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Work Habits: Must demonstrate excellent work habits in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Safe Working Habits: Must demonstrate safe working habits, following all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds frequently.
  • Training: Willing to attend forklift, pallet jack, floor scrubber, and high lift training.
  • Acceptance of Change: Must be acceptable to change and adapt to new situations.
  • Chemical Use: Must be able to use industrial strength chemicals safely and effectively.
  • Lock Out/Tag Out: Must be able to understand and demonstrate all Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to push roll equipment that weighs in excess of 650 pounds.
  • Machine Operation: Must possess general knowledge of machine operation and be able to recognize problems when they occur.
  • Physical Abilities: Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and perform other physical tasks as required.
  • Teamwork: Must be able to work well with others and be a team player.
  • Shift Work: Must be able to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
  • Attendance and Punctuality: Must have excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Assistance: Must be willing to assist other team members in other areas.
  • Productivity: Must be able to perform steady and productive work for an extended period of time.
  • Supervision: Must be able to work efficiently with little or no supervision.
  • Instructions: Must be able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Math Skills: Must possess basic math skills.
  • Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Enthusiasm and Initiative: Must show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work and a commitment to Publix and our mission.
