Sanitation Shift Relief Operator Job Description

At Publix Super Markets, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sanitation Shift Relief Operator to join our team. As a key member of our bakery department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide relief coverage for sanitation associates during breaks and absences
  • Direct and supervise sanitation department associates to ensure efficient and effective cleaning and sanitizing procedures
  • Set a positive example for all associates by demonstrating excellent safety habits and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Participate in production setup and cleanup activities to maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Clean and sanitize production equipment and surrounding areas to prevent contamination and ensure food safety
  • Operate CIP (Clean-in-Place) systems and monitor chemical concentrations to maintain optimal cleaning and sanitizing conditions
  • Complete assigned tasks in the absence of managers to ensure continuity and efficiency
  • Promote a culture of safety and GMPs throughout the department
  • Perform sanitation preventative maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and downtime
  • Complete necessary paperwork and documentation to ensure accurate records and compliance with regulations
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must follow GMPs and demonstrate safe working habits
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment
  • Must obtain a forklift license
  • Assertive and basic mechanical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good human relations skills and teamwork
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality
