About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team of diagnostic imaging specialists. As an MRI Technologist, you will play a critical role in creating high-quality images of the human body using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images of the body's internal structures.
  • Prepare patients for MRI procedures by providing clear instructions and answering questions to reduce anxiety.
  • Position patients according to established protocols to ensure accurate imaging.
  • Assume responsibility for the safety, mental, and physical comfort of patients during procedures.
  • Select software options and imaging parameters on the MRI machine to optimize image quality.
  • Initiate patient IVs and administer oral and IV contrast material as needed.
  • Recognize changes in patient status and communicate effectively with nurses and physicians.
  • Provide documentation of individual patient care according to medical history and clinical information.
  • Perform daily tube warm-ups and calibrations, and maintain quality assurance documentation and quality control protocols.
  • Anticipate and recognize safety hazards, and intervene through appropriate channels.
  • Adhere to department policies and provide quality care in accordance with office procedures.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with colleagues, patients, radiologists, and other employees.
  • Exhibit professional and ethical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to prioritize and evaluate patient care activities.
  • Accept and support learning needs of new staff members.
  • Perform procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
  • Evaluate equipment break-downs and assess the need for service.
  • Responsible for accurately charging for procedures performed.
  • Work with Radiology Work List (RIS) and PACS system to manage patient data and imaging records.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly workspace, and follow infection control and safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrate continuous self-improvement through utilization of knowledge gained in clinical experience.
  • Participate in in-service education, safety classes, staff meetings, and other continuing education programs to maintain optimal technical knowledge.
  • Participate in continuing education and in-services outside Physicians East to maintain MRI certification.
  • Maintain yearly CPR certification.
Location and Commitments

This is a permanent part-time role based at our Greenville location, with a schedule of Tuesday - Thursday, 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Extra hours may be required to ensure patients are taken care of, tasks are completed, and calls are returned in a timely manner. Weekend work is rare but can occasionally be necessary.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • An Associate's degree in radiologic technology.
  • Additional completion of an MRI technology certificate program.
  • Registration or registry eligibility in Magnetic Resonance through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Two years of clinical experience preferred.
