Position Overview
The MRI Technologist operates under the general guidance of the MRI Manager or designated Lead Technologist.
This role is crucial for the independent operation of MRI machinery, ensuring the production of high-quality imaging while delivering exceptional patient care across all age groups.
The technologist is tasked with screening all individuals entering designated MRI zones to uphold magnet safety protocols.

This position may include a sign-on bonus for eligible external candidates.
Key Responsibilities1. Execute all imaging procedures with proficiency, focusing on optimal positioning, appropriate coil selection, and comprehensive knowledge of scanning protocols.
Imaging studies must be conducted efficiently, billed accurately, and presented to the radiologist for interpretation promptly after completion.
2. Verify patient identity using two identifiers and communicate effectively with patients and medical staff regarding MR safety questionnaires and relevant clinical histories.
Ensure the completion of safety questionnaires and communicate any sedation requirements to the medical team.
3. Prepare the scanning environment in accordance with established cleaning protocols.
Maintain proper disposal of sharps and ensure adequate supplies and linens are available in examination rooms.
4. Administer contrast materials for MRI procedures as prescribed by a physician or in accordance with approved protocols, within the scope of practice.
5. Be knowledgeable of and implement emergency procedures as necessary.
6. Perform necessary computer functions related to departmental operations, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
7. Exhibit competency in conducting quality control tasks associated with imaging equipment and procedures to meet established standards.
8. Stay informed of updates and changes within the organization by regularly checking communications.
9. Provide clinical guidance to fellow technologists and students as needed, including assisting in the preparation of staff schedules to ensure adequate departmental coverage.Supervisory Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Required Certifications
ARRT registered in Radiology & MRI; OR ARRT registered in MRI; OR ARMRIT certification; BLS certified.
Essential Skills
Basic computer proficiency, familiarity with office equipment, data entry skills, and mathematical aptitude.
