Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Sickle Cell Specialist to join our interdisciplinary team. This role will provide comprehensive care to patients with complex healthcare needs, ensuring safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care, prioritizing quality and customer service/satisfaction.
  • Adhere to the broad scope of practice as established by the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Maintain the efficient operation of the clinic or unit, scheduling, planning, and optimizing staff and resource use.
  • Provide systematic nursing care to patients and families/populations through assessments, utilizing subjective and evidence-based objective data.
  • Prioritize, synthesize, and document assessments and nursing plans of care using critical thinking and judgment.
  • Implement plans of care within scope of practice, assigning and monitoring other nurses and delegating and monitoring unlicensed staff.
  • Initiate standing orders for prescription refills and labs, as well as standing delegation orders where appropriate.
  • Develop and implement teaching plans concerning maintenance, promotion, and restoration of health, evaluating patients' responses and outcomes to education and therapeutic interventions.
  • Communicate effectively with collaborative teams, escalating critical results and issues in a timely manner.
  • C coordinate care, referring patients to agencies or healthcare professionals for other services/transitions in care when indicated.
  • Perform onsite and telephone triage, utilizing best practice guidelines and documentation to ensure patients receive the right level of care.
  • Maintain a safe environment, promoting quality healthcare and services, respecting and maintaining privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
  • Adhere to standards of practice for professional nursing, acting as a clinical and leadership resource for team members.
Requirements
  • Current state of Texas Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certified preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school with one year nursing experience; OR Associates degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school with three years nursing experience; OR Nursing Diploma (3 year program) and two years nursing experience.
  • Years of experience vary based on education level.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000-$115,000 per year, based on education level and experience.
