Job Summary

The Joule is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Banquet Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Quality and Presentation: Ensure that all meals coming from the kitchen meet our high standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.
  • Staff Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to kitchen staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver exceptional service.
  • Food Cost Control: Work with our executive chef to develop and implement menus that meet our food cost targets while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Ensure that all kitchen areas are clean and sanitized to meet health department regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the receipt and storage of food and supplies to ensure that we have the necessary ingredients and equipment to meet our culinary needs.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and schedule kitchen staff to ensure that we have the right people in the right place at the right time.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 4 years of progressive experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen, or a culinary graduate with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of food preparation techniques, health department regulations, and liquor laws and regulations. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and lead a team.
  • Physical Demands: Medium work - exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
