Job Summary

As a Patient Access Apprentice at MaineHealth, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth registration and admission process for patients. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your excellent communication and problem-solving skills to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Determine insurance coverage and eligibility for patients
• Perform pre-authorization procedures and maintain patient care unit control
• Provide comprehensive financial counseling and assistance to patients
• Establish and monitor patient accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Collect upfront payments and co-payments based on estimated financial responsibilities

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Health industry experience and customer service skills in a clinical setting a plus
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn complex systems and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other staff members
