Job Title: Accounts Receivable Analyst

Job Summary:

The Accounts Receivable Analyst will be responsible for managing and processing third-party invoices, receipts, and collections. This role will also involve analyzing and reconciling accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with VCCS standards, GAAP, and college policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage third-party invoices, receipts, and collections
  • Analyze and reconcile accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial transactions
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with VCCS standards, GAAP, and college policies
  • Communicate with internal and external customers to resolve financial issues
  • Perform complex reconciliations between multiple systems
  • Prepare and submit invoices and account reconciliations in external systems
  • Investigate and resolve delinquent accounts
  • Provide guidance and support to campus Business Offices, Workforce Development, and Student Services

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Ability to analyze and interpret contract agreements and financial transactions
  • Experience with automated accounting or financial systems
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet reporting deadlines
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions/Student Information Systems (SIS)
  • Knowledge of Administrative Information System (AIS) and Virginia Community College System (VCCS)
  • Knowledge of higher education accounting practices

Work Environment:

This position will require a credit check and will work closely with campus Business Offices, Workforce Development, and Student Services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and ability to record, collect, report, and classify accounts receivable transactions
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret accepted accounting principles
  • Ability to analyze and interpret contract agreements
  • Ability to perform complex reconciliations between multiple systems
  • Experience using spreadsheet and word processing software
  • Experience performing cash receipting, auditing, and reconciliation functions

Preferred Qualifications:
