Quality Assurance Test Engineer - HumCap, Inc.

The Quality Assurance Test Engineer plays a crucial role in formulating and executing extensive testing methodologies to enhance coverage and guarantee product excellence.

This position encompasses the creation of simulators and automated testing scripts, alongside the design of advanced testing frameworks for both hardware and software components.

The engineer will work in close collaboration with product development and operational teams to refine testing methodologies and support initial production trials.


Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate Test Methodologies to Enhance Test Coverage - Establish a comprehensive approach to evaluating new products.
  • Create Simulators or Digital Twins for Automated Design Verification of Embedded Systems - Develop tools that facilitate early and thorough evaluations of designs.
  • Develop Automated Testing Scripts and Software Applications utilized by the Product Development Team to Assess New Product Interfaces, Connectivity, and Performance Metrics - Leverage simulators and digital twins to create detailed testing scripts and software for product development.
  • Design and Implement Automated Factory Testing Solutions incorporating hardware and software elements to meet product, quality, cost, and testing specifications outlined in Production Testing Plans - Transition from design verification to production readiness by crafting automated testing solutions that integrate both hardware and software components.
  • Integrate Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Process Capability metrics into Factory Testing Systems - Enhance testing solutions by incorporating process control metrics to ensure quality and consistency in manufacturing.
  • Troubleshoot Factory Testing System Issues using Design of Experiments and Failure Analysis techniques - Continuously improve deployed factory testing systems by resolving issues through structured methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Product Development and Operations Teams to Execute Pilot Production and Manufacturing Process Qualification - Conduct pilot production runs to validate manufacturing processes and ensure products meet all specifications.
  • Document Testing Procedures, Specifications, and Acceptance Criteria for New Products - Finalize and record all testing procedures, specifications, and criteria that will govern production and quality assurance.
  • Provide Support to Operations Teams as needed to ensure timely product delivery - Offer ongoing assistance to operations to address any last-minute challenges impacting delivery timelines.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering

Technical Skills:
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • 3+ years of experience in embedded software development and proficiency in C and/or assembly language for microcontrollers such as Microchip PIC, Freescale/NXP, ST, Cortex M3/M0, and Atmel.
  • Proficient in C programming within an embedded context.
  • Ability to interpret schematics for troubleshooting, debugging, and initializing new hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and in-circuit emulators.
  • Familiarity with Python, Tcl, and VBScript.
  • Basic knowledge of C++.
