Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Pet Care Team Lead to join our team at Destination Pet LLC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the mission, vision, and culture of Destination Pet LLC.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through personal contact with customers and staff.
  • Collaborate with the Destination Pet Support Staff on a regular basis.
  • Ensure the cohesiveness of all aspects of pet care services and cross-training where necessary.
  • Manage staff, including recruitment, hiring, training, promotion, counseling, and termination when necessary.
  • Oversee the scheduling of staff for work assignments.
  • Manage center payroll and ensure timely approval.
  • Comply with federal and local labor laws, including OSHA, EEOC, ADA, and Fair Labor Practices.
  • Conduct safety training and enforce safe-handling rules.
  • Prepare and deliver annual performance reviews.
  • Monitor and respond to the needs of pet guests.
  • Resolve customer and staff complaints.
  • Manage center social media accounts and local marketing programs.
  • Attend community events and partner with local businesses.
  • Maintain inventory and manage computer systems.
  • Address center maintenance needs.
  • Utilize financial reports and statistics.
  • Manage cash and ensure end-of-day cash drawer balance.
  • Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for pet guests and staff.
  • Promote Destination Pet's programs and services in the community.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA preferred.
  • Strong background in driving performance excellence through people management.
  • Five plus years of full P&L management responsibility in hospitality, service, or retail environments.
  • Problem-solving and judgment skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database applications.
  • Strong time management and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral presentation, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Veterinary experience required.
  • Inventory and accounts payable management experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Frequent lifting of 40 pounds.
  • Ability to be on feet for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
  • Ability to work on a computer system and multi-line telephone.
  • Ability to handle dogs on leashes.
  • Ability to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander, and excretions.
