We are seeking a highly skilled Pet Care Team Lead to join our team at Destination Pet LLC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the mission, vision, and culture of Destination Pet LLC.
- Deliver exceptional customer service through personal contact with customers and staff.
- Collaborate with the Destination Pet Support Staff on a regular basis.
- Ensure the cohesiveness of all aspects of pet care services and cross-training where necessary.
- Manage staff, including recruitment, hiring, training, promotion, counseling, and termination when necessary.
- Oversee the scheduling of staff for work assignments.
- Manage center payroll and ensure timely approval.
- Comply with federal and local labor laws, including OSHA, EEOC, ADA, and Fair Labor Practices.
- Conduct safety training and enforce safe-handling rules.
- Prepare and deliver annual performance reviews.
- Monitor and respond to the needs of pet guests.
- Resolve customer and staff complaints.
- Manage center social media accounts and local marketing programs.
- Attend community events and partner with local businesses.
- Maintain inventory and manage computer systems.
- Address center maintenance needs.
- Utilize financial reports and statistics.
- Manage cash and ensure end-of-day cash drawer balance.
- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for pet guests and staff.
- Promote Destination Pet's programs and services in the community.
Requirements:
- BS/BA preferred.
- Strong background in driving performance excellence through people management.
- Five plus years of full P&L management responsibility in hospitality, service, or retail environments.
- Problem-solving and judgment skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database applications.
- Strong time management and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral presentation, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Veterinary experience required.
- Inventory and accounts payable management experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Frequent lifting of 40 pounds.
- Ability to be on feet for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Ability to work on a computer system and multi-line telephone.
- Ability to handle dogs on leashes.
- Ability to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander, and excretions.
