Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Animal Care Coordinator to join our team at Paws Plaza. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about providing exceptional care to pets and working collaboratively as part of a unified team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Supports the mission, vision, and values of Destination Pet LLC by upholding high standards of animal care and promoting a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all pets.
  • Sanitizes and disinfects pet enclosures, general boarding areas, and food prep spaces to maintain a hygienic and healthy environment.
  • Ensures that each pet receives the correct type and quantity of food for each meal, maintains cleanliness of food preparation areas, and accurately charts consumption and elimination.
  • Monitors and ensures the well-being of pet guests throughout the day, reporting any concerns to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • May be required to supervise group play for dogs and/or individual activities for pet guests, assist with bathing and brushing canine guests, and check/pick up excrement from enclosures and other areas as needed.
  • Assists in training new hires in proper animal-handling techniques, supervises assigned shifts, and works with Animal Care Attendants to maintain a clean, safe environment for pet guests.
Requirements
  • Must have professional animal care/kennel experience, display a professional manner at all times, and possess excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations, experience giving medications, CPR Training (preferred but not required), and a High School Diploma are also essential.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; frequently lift 40 pounds, stand, walk, and climb stairs; and handle dogs on leashes.
  • Must be comfortable working in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander, and excretions.
Additional Information

This role reports to the General Manager and comes with a competitive salary range of $17-$20 per hour DOE.
