We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Methodist Medical Center. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine tests in various laboratory sections, including blood bank, serology-urinalysis, coagulation, chemistry, hematology, and microbiology.
Key Responsibilities- Perform high-quality laboratory tests with speed and accuracy, and record results.
- Conduct proper quality control measures and operate equipment necessary for performance of procedures assigned.
- Assist in the practical training of MLT students and new employees, as requested by the technical specialist.
- Notify physicians or designated nurses when panic values are observed in testing.
- Exercise cost-conscious methods, as set forth by the technical specialist.
- Collect blood specimens as necessary, using established techniques for various age groups encountered.
- Associate Degree or equivalent.
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
- Registration with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent preferred.
