About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, which are essential for diagnosing and treating patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and evaluate laboratory tests, including blood counts, chemistry tests, and microbiology tests.
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, including automated analyzers and microscopes.
  • Develop and implement quality control and quality assurance procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to laboratory staff, including medical laboratory technicians and phlebotomists.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure that laboratory test results are accurately reported and communicated to patients and healthcare providers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
  • Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) from a recognized accrediting agency.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals and laboratory staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
