Job Summary
As a Resident Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our residents. Your responsibilities will include enforcing policies and regulations, intervening in situations as needed, providing limited crisis intervention, and maintaining accurate documentation. You will also be responsible for conducting unit inspections, accepting resident referrals, and reviewing rules and regulations with new arrivals.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain visibility to residents through regular site tours and video camera monitoring
- Enforce CHI, site, and DSS/DCFS policies, regulations, and rules with residents
- Intervene in situations as needed in an appropriate fashion to de-escalate situations and redirect behavior
- Provide limited crisis intervention to residents when necessary until CHI professional staff can intervene
- Maintain accurate documentation throughout shift, including turn-over, census, logs, incident reports, etc.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; 1-2 years of experience in a related field may be substituted for high school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of experience working in a related field preferred; if candidate has high school diploma, GED, or higher, no work experience is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in English required; bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus
- Ability to prioritize, make appropriate decisions and judgment calls, and perform proper notifications
