Job Title: Student Portal Outreach Specialist

Join the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education team as a Student Portal Outreach Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for administering activities and initiatives related to the deployment of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) and Oklahoma College Assistance Program's (OCAP) comprehensive, web-based student information portal, OKcollegestart.org.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the ongoing administration and promotion of the OSRHE student portal, OKcollegestart.org, assisting in outreach/awareness efforts, training activities, expanded implementation of the Individual Career Academic Plan (ICAP) features, and various other portal applications and functions.
  • Lead in-person and online training and professional development activities statewide for personnel at Oklahoma high schools, technology centers, higher education institutions, tribal partners, educational support programs, and internal staff to support optimal utilization of student portal systems and features.
  • Assist in development and review of materials, services, and other resources to support OKcollegestart and the agency's other educational outreach initiatives.
  • Provide technical and customer assistance to educators as they customize OKcollegestart features and manage their college and career readiness programs. Prepare college and career planning content for various agency platforms, including OKcollegestart.org, social media accounts, and newsletters.
  • Work collaboratively with the Student Portal Coordinator to increase public awareness of the student portal through presentations at meetings, conferences, and training events, and promote ICAP and other systems and processes among high schools and postsecondary institutions.
  • Plan and execute internal and external meetings; prepare correspondence, summaries, and narrative; and respond to inquiries regarding the student information portal and ICAP system.
  • Teach OKcollegestart services to schools, industry partners, and community groups, and represent OKcollegestart at various professional meetings and events.
  • Participate in special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of postsecondary education and work experience required.
  • Ability and willingness to perform extensive in-state travel in a personal vehicle and some extended work hours is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • The preferred candidate should demonstrate experience developing and delivering training, excellent verbal and written communication, public engagement, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with web-based training and at least two (2) years' experience with college readiness, career readiness, educational outreach, and/or training preferable.
  • Working knowledge of Oklahoma K-12 and higher education programming, technology, policy, and/or college access initiatives is a plus.
