Job Title:
Medical Technologist (ASCP)/Medical Laboratory Scientist


At Baptist Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist (ASCP)/Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of technical procedures analyzing blood and various body fluids to expedite the physician's diagnosis and treatment of his patient.


Responsibilities include:

  • Collecting blood samples and urine samples for drug screening as needed
  • Performing quality control and preventative maintenance
  • Specimen processing and patient venipuncture as needed
  • Independently performing, interpreting, validating, and correlating tests as ordered by physicians


Requirements:

  • ENFORCES HOSPITAL POLICIES AND MAINTAINS DEPARTMENT EFFICIENCY AND PROFICIENCY
  • EXECUTES PATIENT CARE DUTIES


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate degree with MLS (ASCP), MT (ASCP) or MLT (ASCP) and work experience to meet CLIA 88 standards for general supervisor position
  • Certified or eligible for certification in clinical laboratory science by recognized certifying agencies
