The firm is dedicated to supplying debt capital for acquisitions, refinancings, ownership transitions, and growth initiatives within the U.S. lower middle market. With investment offices located in major cities and international investor relations offices, Deerpath manages approximately $7.4 billion in assets globally.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will engage in a variety of tasks within the portfolio reporting and analytics domain, contributing to a dynamic team environment that prioritizes deadlines and efficiency. Reporting directly to the PR&A Managing Director, the candidate will collaborate with investment, investor relations, and operations teams to deliver timely insights on borrowers' financial performance. Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring investments to detect shifts in company fundamentals, industry trends, and security valuations that may impact the investment strategy.
- Creating and updating financial models, conducting operational assessments, and providing valuation guidance and market analysis to inform the investment team and management committee.
- Gaining a comprehensive understanding of credit and equity documentation, including credit agreements and subscription agreements.
- Utilizing strong credit judgment to assess financial performance and reporting from portfolio companies, as well as to evaluate and underwrite additional debt requests.
- Managing portfolio coverage for 20 accounts and assisting in regular portfolio and risk management reporting.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for finance or economics.
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in commercial corporate lending, corporate credit analysis, or direct/private lending.
- Proficient understanding of credit analysis, financial modeling, and complex capital structures.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
