Job Summary

The Associate Portfolio Advisor will manage a portfolio of fee-producing investment accounts, primarily for small to mid-sized personal trust relationships and individual investors. This role requires a strong understanding of investment and portfolio management theory, as well as analytical and interpretive skills to understand client needs.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2-4 years of investment experience in the industry and will be responsible for providing high-level support to the Investment Advisory team. This includes developing and recommending investment strategies, working with Investment Advisors to understand client needs, and providing guidance and mentorship to Investment Associates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage investment activities for a growing set of major fee revenue-producing accounts.
  • Assist in development and recommendations of investment strategies for specific individual clients.
  • Work with Investment Advisors to understand client needs and provide input for revisions as goals and objectives change.
  • Develop an influential presence with the local client-facing team, clients, co-trustees, consultants, and outside attorneys to ensure communication of client requirements and coordinate portfolio activity.
  • Consistently demonstrate increasing proficiency with new investment strategies, tools, and capabilities, and portfolio research and investment methodologies.
  • Provide high-level support to the Investment Advisory team and demonstrate mastery-level skill utilizing all tools needed.
  • Accountable for personal adherence to best practices as measured by the PM Dashboard and related reporting.
  • Work with manager to understand how to personally contribute towards the execution of initiatives, new capability rollouts, and required training.
  • Provides continuous feedback on areas for improvement to leadership on national initiatives, changes, and expectations.
  • Adheres to National Investment Guidelines, feedback from the REV peer review process, and observes sound risk management practices.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of investment and portfolio management theory, accounting and financial principles, associated investment strategies and instruments, and characteristics of various marketplaces.
  • Analytical and interpretive skills to understand client needs in the context of investment strategies.
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years of investment experience working in the investment services industry.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • May lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
