Job Summary

The Associate Portfolio Advisor will be responsible for managing a portfolio of investment accounts, providing high-level support to the Investment Advisory team, and developing an influential presence with the local client-facing team. This role requires a strong understanding of investment strategies, tools, and capabilities, as well as excellent analytical and interpretive skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage investment activities for a growing set of major fee revenue-producing accounts, representing small to mid-sized personal trusts and individual portfolios.
  • Assist in the development and recommendations of investment strategies to achieve client objectives.
  • Work closely with Investment Advisors to understand the overall investment strategy and provide input for revisions as goals and objectives change.
  • Develop an influential presence with the local client-facing team, clients, co-trustees, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of portfolio activity.
  • Consistently demonstrate increasing proficiency with new investment strategies, tools, and capabilities, and portfolio research and investment methodologies.
  • Provide high-level support to the Investment Advisory team, demonstrating mastery-level skills in utilizing tools such as CRA, WealthBench, GPS, and WM Alternatives.
  • Accountable for personal adherence to best practices as measured by the PM Dashboard and related reporting.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of investment and portfolio management theory, accounting and financial principles, associated investment strategies and instruments, and characteristics of various marketplaces.
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills to understand client needs in the context of investment strategies.
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years of investment experience working in the investment services industry.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • May lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
