Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Broadcast Systems Production Engineer to join our team. This role involves working on video and audio production systems and networks, ensuring optimal performance and reliability across various production venues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Support (65%)
    Provide support for major production systems, assist with maintenance of broadcast equipment, and generate ad hoc reports.
  • Engineering (20%)
    Engage in storage, power, and facilities modeling and design, conduct hardware installations, and perform component testing.
  • Supervision and Collaboration (5%)
    Act as a project team member and lead operations for part-time employees as assigned.
  • Technical Research and Professional Development (10%)
    Study system manuals, enhance expertise through training sessions, and stay updated on industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 1-3 years of direct experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of broadcast systems, ability to train others, and capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and navigate stairs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership experience and specific certifications in broadcast and transmission equipment.
  • Possession of a commercial driver’s license upon hire.

This role is essential for maintaining the high standards of production at BYU, ensuring that all systems operate seamlessly to deliver quality content.
