Job Description

The Opportunity

BAE Systems USA is seeking a highly skilled Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer to join our team in supporting the development and acquisition of Sentinel Support Equipment for the U.S. Air Force's ICBM program.

This is a unique opportunity to work on a complex and challenging project, leveraging cutting-edge digital engineering tools and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices.

As part of our team, you will provide technical leadership and expertise in the areas of engineering, logistics, management, and scientific analysis to support the government customer in reviewing and assessing the Sentinel Prime Contractor's design, documentation, architectures, and MBSE products.

You will also assist in the acquisition and integration of support equipment needed for the next-generation ICBM, working closely with the Sentinel Support Equipment Branch Program Manager and other stakeholders.

This role requires a strong understanding of ICBM maintenance, training systems, and operations, as well as experience with Agile, Earned Value Management, and Control Account Management.

The Role
As a Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer on our team, you will be responsible for:
  • Providing technical leadership and expertise in the areas of engineering, logistics, management, and scientific analysis
  • Assisting in the acquisition and integration of support equipment needed for the next-generation ICBM
  • Working closely with the Sentinel Support Equipment Branch Program Manager and other stakeholders to review and assess the Sentinel Prime Contractor's design, documentation, architectures, and MBSE products
  • Supporting the team using Earned Value Management, Agile, and MBSE best practices

Who You Are
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented engineer with a strong understanding of ICBM maintenance, training systems, and operations.

You should have experience with Agile, Earned Value Management, and Control Account Management, as well as a passion for complex systems and a strong work ethic.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
  • 7 years (with BS) or 5 years (with MS) directly related experience
  • At least 3 years progressive responsibility in providing technical leadership
  • Active U.S. Government Secret clearance with a background investigation completed

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • ICBM maintenance, training systems, or operations experience
  • ICBM Acquisitions experience
  • Professional Engineering License
  • Systems Engineering experience and/or Certification
  • Project Management Professional Certification
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Agile, Earned Value Management, Control Account Management
  • USAF Nuclear topic education
  • Engineering/Agile tools: Cameo, MATLAB, DOORS, JIRA, Confluence

Pay Information

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors, including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
