Job Summary

Koam Engineering Systems, Inc. is a leading provider of technology innovation and systems integration services. We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team and lead program-specific engineering efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical coordination and leadership for program-specific engineering efforts.
  • Lead a design team to perform, prepare, review, analyze, and modify system designs and technical documents.
  • Conduct systems/system of systems architecture design, testing, implementation, integration, review, and certification activities.
  • Develop and baseline program integrated master schedules.
  • Update and maintain activity progress, risks, and milestones using MS Project and other scheduling software.
  • Participate in integrated product teams and engineering/design reviews.
  • Conduct data analyses, interpret, and summarize results.
  • Conduct technical requirements definition/allocation.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
  • Direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing, and prototype fabrication.
  • Develop technical documentation, including test plans and reports.
Requirements
  • 4-year post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Systems, IT Business Systems, or Business Administration.
  • Existing U.S. Government DoD granted security clearance/eligibility at the Secret level.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Travel may be required as needed.
  • Job located at a U.S. Government Facility.
  • 10+ years of specialized experience in AEGIS Ashore/AEGIS BMD (AA/ABMD) systems engineering process.
  • 3+ years of experience using Microsoft Project to develop, maintain and resource load schedules.
  • Strong leadership, project engineering, and design skills.
  • Exceptional presentation, oral, and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated experience in system integration, detailed system analysis, and risk and trade-off analysis.
  • Experience with fabrication methods of sheet metal and machined parts.
  • Strong technical, managerial, interpersonal, written, and verbal skills are a must.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to provide direct interface with customers.
  • Strong task delegation, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree preferred.
