Position Title: Intake Assessment Specialist I
POSITION SUMMARY
The Intake Assessment Specialist I plays a crucial role in managing the registration processes and ensuring accurate data entry for all patients. This position is dedicated to providing services without bias towards the financial status of any individual, encompassing insurance verification, billing, and follow-up with various payment sources.
SALARY RANGE
$28 per hour, dependent on experience.

WORK HOURS
8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct intake and screening for all admission inquiries.
- Assist in the completion of intake documentation and patient records.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness in the admission or discharge process within the designated systems.
- Process billing for all services rendered at the time of admission.
- Provide guidance to patients regarding payment obligations and collection processes.
- Input required data elements to fulfill patient accounting system requirements.
- Maintain reports on service units and communicate relevant statistics to the marketing team.
- Manage appointment scheduling and maintain accurate admission and discharge reports.
- Collaborate with external providers to facilitate referrals and admissions.
- Maintain and distribute caseload lists, and keep a log of case conferences.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director or Administrator.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current enrollment in or completion of an academic program in Addiction Studies (Level I or II)
- Registration or Certification with a state-approved certification agency is required upon hire.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is essential.
- Understanding of UB92 and HCFA 1500 billing formats is necessary.
- Minimum of one year of prior admission experience, preferably in a behavioral healthcare setting.
- One year of continuous sobriety is required for those in recovery.
