Job Summary:

The Department of Internal Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a highly qualified Rheumatologist to join our team as a clinician faculty member in the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, teaching and mentoring our Rheumatology fellows, and contributing to the advancement of clinical research and scholarship in the field of Rheumatology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality patient care in outpatient ambulatory clinics and on consult services, with a focus on Rheumatology.
• Teach and mentor Rheumatology fellows, using contemporary adult learning methods to promote evidence-based practice.
• Participate in educational programs, including foundations of clinical medicine, morning report, core conference, and other formal educational programs for undergraduate and post-graduate learners.
• Demonstrate effective teaching skills and continually develop as a teacher for learners at all levels.
• Complete required evaluations of learners in a timely manner, including written and verbal feedback.

Requirements:

• Board certification in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine is required.
• Qualified applicants should have demonstrated both scholarly and clinical abilities through patient care, teaching, and clinical research.
• Candidates must demonstrate experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
