Pediatric Nurse II Job Description

Job Summary:

As a Pediatric Nurse II at Kaiser Permanente, you will provide high-quality patient care to children and families in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care, from routine check-ups to complex medical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to children and families, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and educating patients and families on health and wellness.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop plans to address these needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients' responses to these interventions.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and families, and help them navigate the healthcare system.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve patient care.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of California.
  • Minimum one year of recent experience as an LVN in an acute or outpatient setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
