Rheumatology Role Overview at Children's Hospital Los Angeles
Position Summary:
- The Physician Assistant (PA) II is integral to providing clinical support in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Key responsibilities encompass conducting medical evaluations, diagnosing, and treating pediatric conditions, as well as engaging in specialized therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
- Daily tasks include gathering patient histories, performing physical examinations, communicating treatment plans, evaluating lab results, and delivering patient care in acute units, emergency departments, or operating rooms.
The PA II operates under a structured practice agreement, collaborating with healthcare professionals to assess and address patient needs. They serve as healthcare specialists, interdisciplinary consultants, and patient advocates, while also contributing to the development of fellow Physician Assistants.
This position emphasizes patient and family-centered care, playing a vital role in enhancing the healthcare delivery system at CHLA.
Work Schedule:
Outpatient Environment:
Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with no weekend or night shifts required, and no inpatient responsibilities.
Qualifications: A minimum of 1 year of professional experience as a Physician Assistant is required.
Education/Certification Requirements: A Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program (ARC-PA), current California PA licensure, national certification, and CPR/BLS certification are essential.
Compensation Information:
USD $123, USD $221,644.80
