Job Responsibilities:
Revenue Oversight:
- Manage the documentation and reconciliation of all revenue sources, including donations, grants, and service fees.
- Establish and enforce policies to guarantee accurate and timely revenue acknowledgment.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue summaries.
Receivables Oversight:
- Direct the accounts receivable workflow, including billing, collections, and reconciliations.
- Monitor the aging of receivables and proactively follow up on overdue accounts.
- Develop initiatives to enhance receivables turnover and minimize bad debts.
Financial Reporting:
- Generate precise and timely financial statements and reports for management, board members, and stakeholders.
- Assist in the formulation of the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and non-profit accounting standards.
Internal Controls:
- Establish and uphold robust internal controls to protect assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Conduct regular evaluations of financial processes and suggest enhancements.
Audit and Compliance:
- Collaborate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for annual audits.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and funding guidelines.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor accounting personnel, offering guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Promote a collaborative and supportive team culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA designation is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a non-profit setting.
- Proven expertise in revenue and receivables management.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and non-profit accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and capacity to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
