We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locomotive Engineer to join our team at ASARCO LLC. As a Locomotive Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all train orders, signals, and railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations, and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
  • Conduct pre-trip locomotive inspections and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
  • Operate locomotives in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all applicable operating rules and regulations
  • Communicate effectively with other rail personnel and respond to emergency situations as needed
  • Maintain a high level of physical fitness and be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college degree or higher preferred
  • 2 years of verifiable work experience in a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Ability to work varying shift schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 83 pounds on a rare basis
