About the Position

Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Success Coach to join our Upward Bound Math and Science Program. The Success Coach will play a critical role in supporting the academic and personal development of our students, helping them to achieve their goals and succeed in STEM careers.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of 62-70 students, providing individualized support and guidance to help them overcome academic and social challenges.
  • Evaluate students' abilities and interests through assessments, interviews, and individual planning, developing intervention plans to address areas of need.
  • Provide intrusive counseling for individuals and small groups, helping students to develop essential skills such as organizational and time management abilities, effective study skills, and financial literacy.
  • Work with students to create a plan to achieve academic and career goals, including assistance with college admission, internships, and workforce development partners.
  • Maintain documentation of services in an electronic database and participant files, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to conduct College Access workshops, seminars, and training, promoting college and career readiness outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, or related field.
  • Combination of education and/or experience demonstrating comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • One year of experience in college and career advising, coaching, or counseling of underserved high school students in an education setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in higher education, education, psychology, or related field of study.
  • Three years of experience providing college access and retention services to high school students.
  • Previous experience working other Federal TRIO Grant programs.
