Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologist - Vascular Specialist will be responsible for performing two and three-dimensional sonography imaging and procedures on patients. This role requires a high level of technical skill and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Selects appropriate equipment for use in ultrasound setup, following exam specifications.
Explains and performs the procedure with consideration to the level of understanding and age appropriateness for the patient.
Assesses patient pain interfering with imaging procedure and makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Selects a transducer and adjusts the equipment controls according to the body part to be examined, the depth of field and other specifications of test.
Understands and practices proper use of all equipment.
Performs procedures in accordance with established standards and protocols.
Documents patient information appropriately.
Adjusts and maintains equipment.

Requirements:

Bachelor of Science degree - Highly Preferred
Two years of Ultrasound/Vascular experience. - Required
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)- Currently registered-minimal certifications- RDMS abdomen (AB) and vascular (RVT) - Required
Current BCLS certification. - Required
High integrity, able to follow procedures.
Ability to be a self-motivated learner, to take initiative in learning the many complex processes.
Exhibits professionalism at all times, understands appropriate workplace behavior/communications.
