Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan, Centria coordinates among multiple disciplines for its rehabilitation services, including physical therapy and occupational therapy.
Position OverviewThe Patient Intake and Authorization Coordinator position is responsible for managing the intake and start of care for patients referred to Centria. This includes obtaining and maintaining authorizations and clinical documentation, completing quality analysis, monitoring clinical documents, and conducting benefits and eligibility checks on all patients.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the intake and start of care for referrals, including setting up electronic medical records, obtaining clinical documentation, and coordinating with case managers, insurance, and client service managers.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is uploaded to patient profiles, including insurance cards, scripts, and nursing documentation.
- Conduct benefits and eligibility checks on all patients and obtain any necessary authorizations.
- Work with clinical teams to maintain updated authorizations and submit requests to insurance companies.
- Manage medical record requests and obtain updated scripts on an ongoing basis.
- Complete monthly intake assessments and send discharge letters to appropriate parties.
- Update patient status to discharged/hold when notified of changes.
- Complete ongoing quality analysis to review patient charts and provide direction/education as required.
- College degree or equivalent, minimum requirement.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) preferred.
- Working knowledge of private duty nursing and attendant care.
- Knowledge in obtaining authorizations.
- Ability to follow written instructions.
- Ability to use computers and computer/software programs.
- Ability to communicate expressively and receptively.
Centria's office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30am-6:00pm. Additional time may be required to complete work or meet company objectives.
Physical RequirementsThis role requires sitting most of the day, as well as walking and standing periodically. Close visual acuity on computer screens or monitors is also required.
