Job Title: Counter Sales Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Counter Sales Associate to join our team at Baker Distributing Company in Tyler, TX.

Job Summary

The Counter Sales Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and driving sales growth at our wholesale HVAC distributorship. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong background in technical support, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent Baker Distributing Company as a leader in the industry, ensuring maximum sales growth.
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders, including sales teams, vendors, and contractors.
  • Responsible for showroom merchandising and re-stocking product, ensuring a visually appealing and well-organized sales environment.
  • Assist in resolving customer relations problems, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Complete sales order processes, utilizing suggestive selling techniques to up-sell associated items.
  • Service walk-in and telephone customers, providing expert product knowledge and support.
  • Utilize computer systems, catalogs, and other reference sources to research products and provide accurate information to customers.
  • Arrange stock on shelves or racks in the sales area, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Apply creative problem-solving skills to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1+ year experience in a Counter Sales role, preferably in the HVAC industry.
  • Knowledge of air conditioning, heating, and ventilation equipment at a wholesale distribution level.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting assigned goals and objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including sales, problem-solving, and customer service focus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitasking on different levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must possess and maintain a current, valid Driver's License.
  • Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and understanding English to ensure full compliance with safety standards, training, policies, and procedures.
