Job Summary:

The Accounting and Budgeting Supervisor will oversee the management of accounting tasks related to public housing operating programs, capital fund programs, and other grant programs at the Housing Authority of New Orleans. This individual will report directly to the Financial Management Director and be responsible for supervising all accounting and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage staff including assigning, planning, reviewing work, evaluating performance, and completing evaluations.
  • Analyze financial data and present accurate reports in a timely manner, clearly communicating monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new accounting software and procedures, resolving system problems with IT and vendors.
  • Develop a comprehensive system of financial reporting that meets HUD requirements and internal needs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis, with 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with financial aspects of HUD's public housing and capital fund programs is preferred.
Salary:

$80,000 - $105,000 per year, depending on experience.
