Forensic Investigator, PE Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Investigator, PE Specialist to join our team at Stephens Engineering Consultants, Inc. in the Houston, Texas metropolitan area.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced engineer to provide forensic evaluations and expert opinions on various cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
The selected candidate will be responsible for performing site investigations, collecting data, and preparing detailed written reports of findings. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential for this role as the candidate will be working closely with clients, colleagues, and management.
Key Responsibilities- Prioritize and manage multiple cases simultaneously, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
- Conduct thorough site inspections, collect relevant data, and analyze information to identify causes of damage or failure.
- Prepare clear, concise, and unbiased written reports of findings, adhering to company standards and guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and management, providing regular updates and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Participate in depositions and expert testimony as needed, showcasing expertise and professionalism.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of employment or ability to obtain within two months.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in customer service and teamwork.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Word, with ability to accurately type 30 wpm.
- Valid driver's license, without travel time restrictions, and ability to be insured by the company to use company vehicles.
- Competitive salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
