Job Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented professional engineer to work as a Forensic Engineer, PE based in the Houston, Texas metropolitan area. The candidate may also service STEPHENS's clients in other states, particularly in the surrounding states.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing forensic (investigative) evaluations of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, including but not limited to storm-related damage to roofing and exterior claddings, moisture intrusion, impact damage, foundation settlement, construction defects, etc. Electrical/mechanical engineers will also perform forensic evaluations on electrical/mechanical systems.

The candidate will prepare precise and unbiased written reports of findings for site investigations based on field inspections and research consistent with the company's standards and guidelines. Prior report writing skills are a plus.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be customer service and team-oriented, with professional and timely communication with company clients for assigned projects. They must be flexible with scheduling, daily work, and quality control.

Additional duties may be assigned by management, and the employee must comply with working overtime during periods of heavy workload. We offer a competitive salary, overtime, and a yearly bonus.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering and possess an active professional engineer (PE) license in the state of employment or the ability to become licensed within two months.

An NCEES Record is preferred, and the candidate must have a valid driver's license without travel time restrictions and the ability to be insured by the company to use the company vehicles.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as overtime and a yearly bonus. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
