We are seeking a dedicated Respite Support Specialist to provide short-term relief to caregivers of individuals with developmental disabilities.


Job Summary:

The Respite Support Specialist will provide protective oversight, personal care assistance, and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their own homes or during social and recreational activities within the community.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide protective oversight and support to assigned individuals.
  • Assist with personal care tasks as needed, including reminders and simple assistance with activities such as eating.
  • Follow service plans designed by the care coordination team.
  • Encourage individuals toward self-reliance and respect their confidentiality.
  • Complete and maintain required documentation.
  • Work in accordance with state HCBS Waiver Key, OPWDD, and Agency policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, program administrative teams, and other employees as necessary.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children and adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently and in a minimally supervised setting.
  • Computer skills and literacy.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
