Applied Behavior Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Coach to join our team at Henrico County Public Schools. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, you will play a critical role in providing direct student support to promote student success in the least restrictive setting while positively reshaping student behaviors.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Behavior Plans: Assist in the development, facilitation, and follow-up training in Applied Behavior Analysis, using both discrete trial training and natural environment training models of teaching.
- Provide Model Teaching and Instructional Supports: Facilitate and assist in the development and identification of resources and support information for students and school staff, including practicum supervision/teaching, class instruction, and in-service instruction to other support professionals.
- Conduct Functional Assessments and Analyses: Assist in the development and implementation of assessment tools, to conduct functional assessments and analyses when appropriate, and to develop appropriate behavior strategies to teach appropriate behavior and reduce maladaptive behaviors.
- Train and Supervise Staff: Ongoing training and supervision of paraprofessional staff in implementation of ABA principles and methodology and behavior reduction strategies.
- Collect and Analyze Data: Create an ongoing data collection system to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for students, and to analyze data on a frequent and ongoing basis to guide programming.
- Develop and Review Behavior Plans: Develop behavior plans/treatment plans for all consumers with a focus on teaching and other antecedent strategies for reducing problematic behavior(s), and review and sign off on behavior plan/treatment plan training for all staff.
- Provide Consultation Services: Provide consultation services and maintain ongoing communication with all stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and other support professionals.
- Stay Current with Best Practices: Keep current with the literature, new research findings, and resources, and participate in continuing education courses to maintain BCBA certification.
- Maintain Records and Communication: Maintain all data, paperwork, and communication with school teams, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Master's Degree Required: A Master's degree in a related field is required, and must maintain current certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst and remain in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
- Experience and Skills: Demonstrates competence in behavior management, instructional skills, oral and written communication, organizational skills, and interpersonal relations, and has a minimum of 2 years' experience addressing student behavioral needs.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently and 25 to 50 pounds occasionally, and may assist, move, or restrain students when required to intervene in student safety issues.
