Compensation: $33.25/hour

Available Shifts:
SECOND SHIFT: 2 PM - 10:30 PM | Monday - Friday | Includes $1 Shift Differential
THIRD SHIFT: 10 PM - 6:30 AM | Monday - Friday | Includes $1 Shift Differential

Key Responsibilities:
As a Trailer Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for performing maintenance services that meet the high standards of quality and volume set by Dayton Freight.

  • Possess a solid understanding of repairing and reconstructing components on 48ft. and 53ft. dry van trailers, effectively handling:
    • Suspension and running gear components
    • Landing gear assembly and its components
    • Wheel components and tires
    • Brake and air components
    • Electrical, lighting, and wiring components
    • Rear frame and door components
    • Side, nose, and roof components
    • Interior and floor components
  • Conduct thorough Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs
  • Maintain a high level of welding and metal fabrication skills
  • Respond to service calls as needed
  • Wash and fuel equipment when required
  • Perform road tests on vehicles to ensure quality repairs, dependent on possessing a CDL
  • Exhibit a consistently positive attitude while interacting courteously and professionally with colleagues
  • Proactively assist, guide, and mentor junior technicians
  • Actively participate in the upkeep of the shop, grounds, and all equipment and tools
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment that complies with OSHA and company standards
  • Accurately record all work and labor using the EMS system
  • Collaborate with the Parts Department to maintain adequate levels of materials, parts, and shop supplies
  • Adhere to EPA regulations and comply with DOT and company safety requirements
  • Perform additional maintenance duties or assignments as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Able to pass a drug screening
