POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Plant Superintendent, the Precision Machining Specialist collaborates effectively with team members while also demonstrating the capability to work independently.

The specialist will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of lathe and roll rotating machinery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Initial duties and responsibilities include:
  • Trimming and skimming rolls to meet pre-grind specifications.
  • Removing old rubber, composite, ceramic, PU, and other coverings.
  • Completing necessary documentation for factory orders and roll receiving reports.
  • Gaining proficiency in operating new machinery as upgrades occur.
  • Cutting locking grooves according to SPI specifications when required.
  • Installing fusor or other end treatments as necessary.
  • Cutting grooves in covers.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the machine and surrounding area.
  • Sanding rolls with a belt sander when needed.
  • Extracting full thickness samples from roll covers.
  • Exhibiting the ability to perform all tasks proficiently with or without supervision.
  • Willingness to undertake additional maintenance, housekeeping, painting, and miscellaneous tasks as directed by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
On-the-job training will be provided. Other combinations of experience and education that meet requirements may be considered.
