Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated professional to oversee the operations of the Echocardiography Department. This role involves the proficient execution of adult echocardiographic procedures while ensuring the department runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the Echo Department and its personnel.
  • Perform echocardiographic examinations with a high level of competence.
  • Manage on-call duties and monitor the availability of supplies.
  • Ensure the maintenance and functionality of all echocardiographic equipment.
  • Support infection control standards and assist in patient transport.
  • Foster interdepartmental relationships and promote excellent guest relations.
  • Engage in continuous personal and professional development.

Leadership Duties:

  • Act as a mentor and educator for new team members and students.
  • Address staff-related issues, including morale, procedures, and safety, in collaboration with management.
  • Organize departmental training programs and track participation.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss departmental updates.
  • Participate in the recruitment and hiring process for new staff.
  • Review and assess employee performance in conjunction with management.
  • Attend relevant committee meetings as required.
  • Develop and manage work schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Handle administrative responsibilities, including budget preparation and payroll management.
  • Oversee inventory management and coordinate supply purchasing.
  • Stay informed about advancements in echocardiography and implement new techniques as appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with preventive maintenance and quality assurance protocols for imaging equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in performing echocardiographic examinations in various clinical settings.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive work environment and customer service.
  • Ability to effectively manage patient interactions and address inquiries professionally.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current BLS certification; ACLS certification is preferred.
  • Registry in Cardiac Sonography is advantageous.
  • Associate degree in cardiovascular technology or a related field is required.

Language Proficiency:

  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and legibly in clinical documentation.
  • Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
