POSITION SUMMARY

The Personal Care Assistant (PRN) is responsible for delivering personal support and incidental Activities of Daily Living to residents in the Capri Senior Communities, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Availability: Must be prepared to work one weekend each month.
  • Resident Care: Follow the established Resident Care Plan to assist residents in achieving their highest level of independence with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, toileting, and nutritional support. Responsibilities also include meal preparation, laundry assistance, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
  • Mobility Assistance: Aid residents with mobility and transfers, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Medical Support: Assist with medication administration and maintain accurate reporting as required.
  • Task Delegation: Carry out assigned tasks as directed by nursing staff or management.
  • Healthcare Standards: Adhere to accepted healthcare practices.
  • Housekeeping Duties: Assist with cleaning tasks in resident and common areas as instructed.
  • Activity Engagement: Facilitate or participate in resident activities, both scheduled and spontaneous.
  • Observation and Reporting: Monitor and report on residents' conditions and any safety concerns to appropriate staff promptly.
  • Documentation: Accurately document observations and participation in activities in a timely manner.
  • Punctuality: Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
  • Organizational Skills: Exhibit the necessary organizational skills to fulfill shift responsibilities and promote residents' emotional well-being.
  • Confidentiality: Safeguard residents' health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and applicable laws.
  • Professionalism: Uphold a professional appearance, attitude, and demeanor while on duty.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Stay informed about State Regulations and updates relevant to the services provided.
  • Training Participation: Attend all mandatory staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent, plus six months of experience in a caregiving role or similar.
  • Completion of relevant certifications such as CBRF and/or CNA.
  • Demonstrated reliability and flexibility in scheduling, with a commitment to excellent attendance.
  • Ability to exhibit patience, understanding, and emotional support to meet residents' daily needs.
  • Knowledge of compliance with building regulations and DHS requirements.
  • Commitment to high-quality resident relations and satisfaction.
  • Adherence to safety and health standards in care delivery.
