Rheumatologist Clinician Educator

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Rheumatologist Clinician Educator to join the Department of Medicine at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. The Division of Rheumatology is an academic practice sponsored by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM) and supported by the Montefiore Medical Center Rheumatology Fellows.

The practice includes both inpatient and outpatient care, clinical supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students. At its peak, the practice has 1,700 unique patients between the two hospitals, with 52 receiving routine Biologic Infusion Therapy. The practice has an active Lupus Clinic, Joint Pain Clinics, Ultrasound Evaluation and Treatment Clinics, and Arthritis Clinics.

The Jacobi Inpatient service averages 7 consults per day, while NCB averages 3-5 a day. The service is a Division of the Department of Medicine with a vision for 4 full-time Rheumatologists. Jacobi and NCB are teaching sites for the eight fellows at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM)-Montefiore Program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care to patients with rheumatic diseases
  • Supervise and educate fellows, residents, and medical students
  • Participate in academic activities, including research and education
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive care

Qualifications

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine
  • Board certification or eligibility in Rheumatology
  • Possess or eligible for a New York State Medical License
  • Ability to speak Spanish highly desired but not required
  • Ultrasound training preferred, but not required
  • Proficient use of Electronic Medical Record System (EMR), such as Epic desired but can be trained
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) required but can be trained
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
