About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Division Controller to join our team in the construction industry. This role is a key leadership position within our finance department and will report directly to the Corporate Controller / CFO.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Prepare and manage the company's annual budget, including the review and analysis of budget proposals and financial planning.
  • Prepare Job Status Reports and provide detailed analysis to management on project performance, cost savings, and other key financial metrics.
  • Develop and deliver accurate revenue projections to support strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to finance staff, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with other department heads to align financial management with operational goals and objectives.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
  • Proven experience in budget preparation, internal controls, Job Status Reports, and revenue projections.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.

We are a 65-year-old company that empowers our next Divisional Controller. Our organization needs a leader for our biggest division in the Northern CA area, handling the financials for 3 entities, and preparing budgets and forecasts in partnership with the home office.
