Job Summary

The Pharmacy Clinical Informatics Technician plays a vital role in supporting the pharmacy team by providing expertise in automation and technology systems management. This position requires a strong understanding of pharmacy informatics and the ability to work collaboratively with staff to optimize workflows and improve health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain pharmacy automation systems, including configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide consultative support to users and staff on automation and technology systems.
  • Assess and evaluate new technology to ensure usability and integration with existing systems.
  • Monitor and adjust inventory levels to ensure accurate and efficient medication management.
  • Coordinate maintenance and service calls for automation equipment.
  • Perform workflow assessments and optimization to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Assist with the management of the smart pump library and controlled substance surveillance audits.
Requirements
  • Nationally certified as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern license.
  • Registration with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy (KY hospitals) within 30 days of hire date.
  • At least 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience (or similar experience) required.
  • Clinical informatics experience preferred.
