Job Title: Water Resources Graduate Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Water Resources Graduate Engineer to join our team at Ripple Effect Consulting.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, preparing reports, and coordinating with stakeholders on construction plan sheets for storm water infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and gather relevant data to support project submissions
  • Develop hydrologic assessments to delineate drainage patterns and quantify runoff
  • Prepare hydraulic assessments to support recommendations for storm drain infrastructure, focusing on flood protection
  • Compile comprehensive reports documenting data sources, assumptions, assessments, results, and recommendations
  • Assist in creating schematic exhibits, calculating quantities, and verifying the accuracy of work
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated eagerness to embrace new challenges and responsibilities
  • Proficiency in communicating project status and addressing design challenges
  • Ability to follow general direction and work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Desire to acquire extensive civil engineering knowledge while specializing in water resources
  • Willingness to undergo on-the-job training to familiarize oneself with the firm's policies, practices, standards, and relevant regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of experience; or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with no prior experience required
  • Familiarity with software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-1, HEC-RAS, WSPG, HY8, AutoCAD, or GIS is advantageous but not mandatory
  • EIT certification is preferred but not mandatory
