Faculty Position in Clinical Science Education

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and innovative faculty member to serve as a medical educator in pathology and clinical medicine. The successful candidate will teach across all four years of our undergraduate medical education curriculum, with opportunities to serve in curriculum leadership roles and participate in clinical care in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities
  • Teach in undergraduate medical education in pathology, clinical skills, community and population health, simulation, large group learning, and small group facilitation.
  • Serve in curriculum leadership roles as appropriate.
  • Participate in educational research or other scholarly endeavors in collaboration with faculty in department or at partner universities.
  • Encourage scholarly activities with medical students and colleagues.
  • Serve on department or university committees.
  • Assist in academic advising and mentoring of students.
Requirements
  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
  • Board Certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
  • Unrestricted medical license in the state of Georgia, appropriate hospital credentials and privileges, and an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration license.
  • Assistant Professor: Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate postgraduate training.
  • Associate Professor: Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
  • Professor: Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior teaching experience in U.S. medical education programs.
  • Background in case-based and active learning methods in small and large group settings.
  • Engagement in research or scholarship.
