The Augusta University/University of Georgia (AU/UGA) Medical Partnership is seeking an experienced and innovative faculty member to serve as a medical educator in the areas of clinical skills, community and population health, simulation, and large group learning and small group facilitation. The successful candidate will have a primary appointment at MCG at Augusta University, with the opportunity for an adjunct faculty appointment in the appropriate department at the University of Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teaching/Instruction (estimated 80% time) - Teach in undergraduate medical education in some or all of the following areas depending on curricular needs: pathology, clinical skills, community and population health, simulation, large group learning, and small group facilitation.
- Research (estimated 10% time) - Participate in educational research or other scholarly endeavors in collaboration with faculty in department or at partner universities.
- Service (estimated 10% time) - Serve on department or university committees. Also assist in academic advising and mentoring of students.
- Candidates must have an MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
- Candidates must have Board Certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
- Candidates should have or have the ability to obtain the following when appropriate for teaching assignments: an unrestricted medical license in the state of Georgia, appropriate hospital credentials and privileges, and an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration license.
- Preference will be given to individuals with prior teaching experience in U.S. medical education programs.
- Preference will be given to individuals who will be actively engaged in some form of research or scholarship.
- This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.
- The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
