Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Director of Community Engagement at Spring Hills Morristown. This is a dynamic role that requires a strong passion for creating engaging experiences for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive program of activities and events that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure that our residents receive holistic care and support.
  • Assess and document the needs and preferences of our residents, and develop individualized care plans to meet their unique needs.
  • Supervise and train a team of activity assistants and volunteers to ensure that our programs are delivered with excellence.
  • Plan and implement Reality Orientation programs, nursing restorative and rehabilitative programs, and other activities that promote resident engagement and well-being.
  • Recruit and schedule community events and activities that align with our residents' interests.
  • Develop and maintain an activity attendance record for each resident, and assess the effectiveness of our programs.
  • Ensure that our programs are delivered in a safe and inclusive environment, and that our residents' rights and dignity are respected at all times.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and training.
  • Supervisory experience and strong leadership skills.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of dementia and its effects on individuals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Basic understanding and competence of computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends as required.
Physical Requirements

This role requires standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb and balance, stoop, kneel, talk or hear, taste or smell. Lifting up to 10 pounds is required, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds and rarely lifting of up to 50 pounds.
